Rain Gardens & Rescued Birds Event

  • Paper Mill Park Pavilion 585 Paper Mill Road Newark, DE, 19711 (map)

Monday, April 7

What do rain gardens, bird rehab & garden maintenance have in common? Find out at this outdoor afternoon event! We’re partnering with Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research for our annual cut back of the garden. Dead stems don’t need to be “yard waste” - they can help rehabilitate rescued birds instead!

Learn About:

• NATIVE PLANT BENEFITS

• SPRING GARDEN CLEANUP

• HOW RAIN GARDENS WORK

• WILD BIRD REHABILITATION

Injured birds rely on natural materials for cover and hiding like our dead stems. Seedheads from native plants also provide a vital food source for birds, and that’s why we’re donating ours. Talk about upcycling!

Bring yourself or your kids, and stop by the Pavilion on your way to hike, play, or bike the trails!
