Earth Day Planting

Earth Day PlantingSaturday April 20 9 a.m. at Swift Park in Hockessin, DE. Please come to the parking lot located off of Old Lancaster Pike

Come out and celebrate Earth Day by planting vegetated swales at Swift Park, Hockessin, DE (meet by playground parking lot). 30 volunteers needed to plant small perennials and grasses along two swales leading from the parking lot to a tributary of the White Clay Creek. Help the environment and learn how native plants can help clean the water that enters the creek. Dress to get dirty and bring a small garden trowel and gloves. Please click here to register.

Senate passes White Clay Creek Expansion Bill, but what happens next?

The White Clay Creek Wild and Scenic River Expansion Act of 2011 was unanimously  passed by the Senate on December 29, 2012. This act would preserve an additional nine miles of White Clay Creek and its tributaries at no additional cost to tax payers. Unfortunately, the Bill will need to be reintroduced in the new session of Congress and will need the support of both the House and Senate to become law.  Learn more by visiting Senator Chris Coons Blog.
