FLOODPLAINS

Qualification
All areas identified within the 100-year floodplain as established and defined by FIA/FEMA and delineated on the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), as well as all alluvial soils and areas within the known high-water mark, are protected by floodplain ordinances.

Regulations
No new construction is permitted within the areas identified by the above criteria, unless approved by the Zoning Hearing Board and the DEP engineers.

No ordinances protect steep slopes within the municipality.
 

VEGETATIONAL BUFFERS

Currently no ordinances provide for vegetated buffers adjacent to surface waters.
 

WOODLANDS

One ordinance states that no tree that is six inches or more in caliper and is more than 15 feet from an improvement can be removed without a permit. There are no other protection measures for woodland areas.
 

STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

There is no participation in a regional Watershed Management Plan, and there are no stormwater quality management standards.
 

WETLANDS

Currently there are no required buffers around wetlands.
